Sunnyside Chicken Scratch
Chef David, founder of Front Porch Pets and creator of Sam’s Yams Sweet Potato Dog Chews noticed long ago that our clutch of laying hens would really go wild over cooked leftover sweet potatoes. Then we discovered how delicious and rich the eggs and yolks were from the girls. This started a whole lot of fun and experimentation on feeding the hens scratch made of natural ingredients that enhance the richness of our eggs. So, to the sweet potato we added cracked red corn, kale chips and calendula flowers. We grow the kale and calendula in our own gardens and greenhouse.
